Post-doc: EM Model Refinement Methods Development; Portland, OR.

A post-doctoral position is available immediately involving development of
software for the refinement of atomic models against electron microscopy
reconstructions. Research goals include parameterizations, optimization
algorithms, stereochemical restraints, and the testing of methods with model
systems, especially the ribosome, in collaboration with Joachim Frank. The
position is funded for four years within a National Institutes of Health
Grant. Further information is available at http://xtal.ohsu.edu/.
Applicants should have a strong record of computer methods development in
some area of molecular biophysics. Applications should be sent to
chapmami@ohsu.edu and should include a CV and contact information for three
referees. Oregon Health & Sciences University is located in Portland, and
is the state's health & research university. Other research in the Chapman
laboratory focuses on the structural biology of enzymes and viruses,
combining x-ray crystallography, electron microscopy with biochemical
techniques.
