I suggest to check memory by running memtest86+ for many hours; there should be 0 errors. b) less likely: your graphics driver is somehow very misconfigured. Are you running the NVIDIA-supplied graphics driver that you somehow manually configured? If so, after saving /etc/X11/xorg.conf try running system-config-display, choose the VESA driver or the CentOS-supplied NVIDIA driver if applicable. It will be slower but maybe more stable. c) other operating system reasons. Use 'dmesg' and try to understand its output; at least check for error messages.
