CCP4bb navigationCCP4bb <-- 2008 <-- January 2008 <-- 17 January 2008Subject: Postdoctoral fellow / Research Associate position with the Structural Genomics Consortium, Toronto From: alexey bochkarev alexei {- dot -} botchkarev {- at -} GMAIL {- dot -} COM Date: 2008-01-17 approach to structural genomics: dedicated biology groups with target-specific expertise work on getting the proteins soluble, and biophysical and functional characterizations feature prominently. Interesting biological questions are further pursued either in-house or through collaborations. For more details, see: http://www.thesgc.com/ Primary responsibility of the Protein Crystallography (PX) group, led by Alexey Bochkarev, goes from assisting Biology groups in improving crystals to finalized structure, but also pursuing follow-up structural studies into function and biology, in close collaboration with the Biology groups of the SGC. It will also actively work in methodology development, specifically for improving efficiency of SGC operations, but more generally according to the interests of group members. The Chromatin and Epigenetics group, led by Jinrong Min, studies the structure-function relationship of chromatin proteins involved in histone code "reading" and "writing" by X-ray crystallography in combination with other biochemical and biophysical techniques. The PX group of the SGC in Toronto is currently recruiting crystallographers to work with Chromatin and Epigenetics group. The PX group has an opening for enthusiastic person with solid crystallographic expertise: - Research Associate or Postdoctoral Fellow (depending on experience).
