Drug Discovery Vacancies

Sareum is a Structure-based Drug Discovery company listed on the London
Stock Exchange, based in Cambridge UK, developing therapies for unmet
medical need in cancer.

By joining Sareum you will become part of a fast growing research
company with the opportunity not only to build a well valued career but
also benefit from the extensive knowledge available within the research
departments.

Group Head - Crystallography

For this position we seek a senior level scientist to lead the X-ray
structure determination team. The ideal candidate will be a good
practical scientist with the leadership skills required to motivate and
develop their team, coupled with the strategic vision to maintain
Sareum's industry-leading position in this discipline. Essential to the
role is the ability to operate as a key liaison between the different
discovery groups requiring broad knowledge and experience within the
drug discovery community. The successful candidate must be dynamic and
outgoing with outstanding interpersonal skills as well as excellent
scientific credentials.

X-ray Crystallographer

We are looking for a highly motivated scientist to join our X-ray
structure determination team. This position would suit a graduate/PhD
with at least 2 years experience in protein structure determination,
ideally gained in a biotechnology/pharmaceutical R&D environment.

Extensive experience using state-of-the-art techniques is required, and
must include use of crystallographic software (data processing,
structure solution and model building), along with a working knowledge
of current structural solution methods (MR, MIR, MAD, SAD etc).

You will be joining a highly motivated and multidisciplinary team. Your
tasks will include the crystallisation and structure solution of
pharmaceutically important protein-ligand complexes at high resolution
for both our extensive in-house projects and valued discovery clients.

Both roles require a flexible approach to work, excellent communication
skills and an ability to work well within multidisciplinary project
teams.

We offer a competitive remuneration package including personal
healthcare, contributory pension and share option scheme.

Scientists with the skill base required and the desire to work in a
state of the art drug discovery company should send their full CV with a
covering letter to;

Dr David Williams via email to david.williams@sareum.co.uk

The closing date for applications is 15th February 2008 and successful
applicants will hear back within 2 weeks of closing date.
