Submission:

===========

All submissions will be handled by the SLS Digital Users

Office (DUO).

Notes:

======

a) The IR beamline has first light, but is not yet in a

condition to receive general users. A first set of

pilot proposals has been selected out of the last

call for proposals. Users interested in doing

experiments or assisting with the commissioning

are requested to contact the beamline manager

Philippe Lerch (philippe.lerch@psi.ch).

b) VUV, a beamline for vacuum ultraviolet radiation

is now starting up and accepting first expert users

(pilot proposals).

Users are asked to adhere to the following rules:

Users who are interested to perform an experiment at

the new beamline:

i) first contact the beamline manager

Melanie Johnson (melanie.johnson@psi.ch)

ii) submit the proposal with type 'Pilot'.

c) SuperXAS, a beamline for chemistry, environmental

sciences is now starting up and accepting first

expert users (pilot proposals).

Users are asked to adhere to the following rules:

Users who are interested to perform an experiment at

the new beamline:

i) first contact the beamline manager

Maarten Nachtegaal (maarten.nachtegaal@psi.ch)

ii) submit the proposal with type 'Pilot'.

d) Proposals involving the FEMTO slicing facility or the

laser system for time-resolved measurements in the

picosecond regime should be discussed with the

group leader Gerhard Ingold (gerhard.ingold@psi.ch)

or the head of laboratory LSYI Rafael Abela

(rafael.abela@psi.ch) prior to submission.

e) For the proposal evaluation by the Proposal Review

Committee, DUO Experimental Reports on previous

experiments represent a very important input, and

a missing experimental report may seriously affect

the chances of acceptance. Proposers are asked to

supply a separate experimental report for each

experiment performed. Note that now also a co-proposer

can input an experimental report.

f) The SLS is part of the EU I3 initiative and we will

be able to provide travel and accommodation support.

Proposers interested in this support are asked to mark

the corresponding box in the proposal. For further

details please go to:
