Can anybody comment on the latter machine (not the more expensive StepOnePlus)? The machines proposed like Roche LC480, Stratagene Mx3005p or Biorad iQ5 are far beyond 30 k€ list price..... beyond my budget..... Not only do you need to have a close look at the available detection filters and their bandwidth (latter can be very different from company to company!) but also the software is very important because we do the opposite of a real PCR experiment, that is, curves are turned around and many software packages can not handle that or, even worse stop working...
