From: Ben Eisenbraun bene {- at -} CRYSTAL {- dot -} HARVARD {- dot -} EDU Date: 2008-03-18 We have extended the early registration deadline for the SBGrid user summit 'Quo Vadis Structural Biology?' Information from the initial mailing is below. Come on by and see us now, ya hear? -ben -- Ben Eisenbraun Structural Biology Grid http://sbgrid.org/ == The first ever SBGrid user summit 'Quo Vadis Structural Biology?' will take place on May 5th and 6th 2008 in Boston, Massachusetts. We will have a number of talks and workshops focused on structural biology computing. This two-day conference will include lectures and hands-on computing lab sessions. Our speakers include Axel Brunger, Niko Grigorieff, James Chou, Mark Gerstein, David E. Shaw, Joachim Frank, Frank Delaglio and others. We have two tracks of hands-on workshops. The first track focuses on tools and techniques for using structural biology software. The second track is of a more general technical nature and focuses on building your own tools and computing infrastructure to support your research needs. The structural biology workshops will be lead by industry veterans including Paul Emsley (low resolution model building), Ralf Grosse-Kunstleve (structure determination with Phenix), Naomi Chayen (protein crystallization), Gael MacGill (animation), Woody Sherman (in-silico screening) and others. The technical track includes workshops led by Harry Powell (computing and programming with CCP4), David Gohara (introduction to Apple technologies for scientists) and Ian Stokes-Rees (Python for scientists). These are just a few of our hands-on workshops; please see the Quo Vadis website for a complete listing. The computing workshops are limited to 24 participants so please register early. To register or to find out more, please visit the conference website: http://www.sbgrid.org/quovadis The full list of speakers is also available via PDF: http://sbgrid.org/downloads/QuoVadis_poster2.pdf CCP4bb navigationCCP4bb <-- 2008 <-- March 2008 <-- 18 March 2008 |
